This is a derived dataset created from route event overlay using the linear events and access and travel management for the Lewis & Clark National forest and is a snap shot in time. This data contains all Forest System Routes that have access and travel managment assigned to them. This layer will have some routes under county, state jurisdition for displaying data. Work has been done with district personel where possible to update data to best of our knowledge. Most of the road lines have been GPS'd or digitized using Digital Orthophoto Quadrangles, or digital USGS Quadrangles. The USDA Forest Service, Lewis and Clark National Forest manages resource information and derived data as a service to USDA Forest Service, Lewis and Clark National Forest users of digital geographic data. The USDA Forest Service, Lewis and Clark National Forest is in no way condoning or endorsing the application of these data for any given purpose. It is the sole responsibility of the user to determine whether or not the data are suitable for the intended purpose. It is also the obligation of the user to apply those data in an appropriate and conscientious manner. This is a derived layer created by using the Route Event Overlay Union routine. The Linear Events Table, and Access and Travel Management Restrictions tabels were used to create the events.
Metadata imported.
Route Control Number used to connect to INFRA database. Populated from Infrastructure (INFRA) database, route basics table. Link item to attributes stored in INFRA database.
Beginning Measure Point in miles. BMP is generally zero (0) in this dataset.
Ending Measure Point in miles. Used during routing process to recalibrate miles based on those stored in INFRA (populated and updated from INFRA).
Feature geometry.
ESRI
The official identifier of the route
Common name of the route
A description of where the route begins
A description of where the route ends
Feature geometry.
ESRI
The legal right to control or regulate use of a transportation facility. Jurisdiction requires authority, but not necessarily ownership. The authority to construct or maintain a road may be derived from fee title, an easement, an agreement, or some other similar method.
Internal feature number.
ESRI
The Maintenance level currently assigned to the road considering today's needs, road condition, budget constraints and environmental concerns; in other words it defines the level to which the road is currently being maintained.
A Public Forest Service Road (PFSR) is a designated public road under Forest Service jurisdiction that meets the definition of 23 U.S.C. Section 101. The PFSR classification indicates the status of PFSR designation.
Current physical state of being of the route segment
The wearing course; usually designed to resist skidding, traffic abrasion, and the disintegrating effects of weather.
A network of travel ways serving a common need or purpose, managed by an entity with the authority to finance, build, operate and maintain the routes.
The forest code that represents the specific travel management prohibitions on a road or trail. It includes the strategy, dates the strategy is in effect, the mode of travel.
Refer to http://www.fs.fed.us/r1/lewisclark/gis/metadata/TravelCodes.pdf to interpret values.
Specifies if the routes is a seasonal restriction.
Length of feature in internal units.
